Youth Nationals Summary - last updated 7/6
Erwin D. Jones Jr.  (Phoenix Bobcats, Phoenix, Ariz.), improved on his third-place finish at the 2009 Youth Championships, to win the Young Men's Decathlon with 5,768 points while George Wayda (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) pulled ahead on the second day to win the Intermediate Boys with a score of 5,247 over Jamaal Jones, 5222 points.
 
Erwin also placed second in the Young Men Javelin and Jamaal placed second in the Intermediate Boys Javelin. Jamaal also placed third in the IB division of the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.75.
 
Erwin will be a Senior at Shadow Mountain High School and Jamaal will be a Junior.
 
Renee Dyson (Phoenix Bobcats, Phoenix, AZ) who will be a Sophomore at Pinnacle High School won the Intermediate Girls division Javelin. Her triplet sisters Taylor Dyson and Lizabeth Dyson placed 6th and 8th respectively in the same event. This is Renee's 5th National Javelin title at this meet and her fourth consecutive. Renee and Lizabeth were part of Pinnacle's dominate 4 x 800 Relay
 
Christian Shaver, Freshman to be at North Canyon, placed 4th in the Javelin, 5th in the Shot Put and 3rd in the Discus.
 
Timothy Duckworth, Freshman to be at Arcadia High School also picked up a few medals at this meet. He placed 2nd in the Youth Boys Division Pentathlon (hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, 1500, and shot Put). Third in the Pole Vault, Third in the High Jump and Eight in the 100 Meter Hurdles.

Melissa Hernandez of Apache Junction High School finished 21st in the Young Women division of the 100 meter hurdles.Freshman to be at Arcadia High School also picked up a few
