11/14/2009 - Greg Wyatt helps turnaround Durango football
Of note, 16th-seeded Castle View and No. 13 Standley Lake are in the playoffs for the first time, while Liberty and Durango are making their first appearances since 2001. Durango, under first-year head coach Greg Wyatt, has engineered quite a turnaround. The Demons went 0-10 last season.

5/9/2009 - Christy Mchugh sweeps 100 and 200 at her High School Regionals
Christy McHugh, sophomore at Joy Christian HS in Glendale just won 3 regional championship titles in her schools 1A division. Christy placed 1st in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, and helped her 4 X 100 relay team win their regional championship title. Christy also was runner-up in her 4th event (long jump) and missed the championship title for that event by 1 inch!
Coach Jones has been the cornerstone of Christy successes this season with Coach Gettleman's help in the long jump where Christy just posted her long jump PR at regionals of 16'.05".
3/3/2009 - Christy McHugh and Erwin Jones Jr make U.S. National Elite team
Joy Christian's Christy McHugh and Shadow Mountain's Erwin Jones Jr both met the silver standard for MilesSplit.us at the 2/15 Indoor Classic in Flagstaff Arizona. Christy's 8.03 in the 60M dash exceeded the 8.14 silver standard mark. While Erwin's 8.60 in the 60M hurdles bested the 8.64 silver standard mark. Congratulations to Christy and Erwin.

2/18/2009 - Freshman Karen Schillinger wins Pentathlon at Kane Invitational
The Cornell women got off to a good start on Friday night with freshman Karen Schillinger's win in the pentathlon. Setting personal bests in five events, Schillinger's total of 3,342 is #7 all-time a Cornell.

2/13/2009 - Chapparal over Cactus Shadows in 4A-1 Soccer Semifinal
Congratulations to Chaparral. They have three outstanding freshman athletes on the team, Matt and Mark Matiski, and Douglass Jamison. All the players on the team know how to play as a team. They defeated a great Soccer program. Great job men.

12/18/2008 - PVUSD Cross Country Festival
The Bobcats were well represented at the PVUSD Cross Country Festival held 12/10/2008 at Pinnacle Peak High School. From Jessica Molloy's and Brayden Green's 1st place finishes to Shannon Molvin's 5th place finish to Dakota Dyson (40th), Molly Molvin (20th), and Alexandra Novacek (13th) for doing us proud. Congratulations to all of the participants!
We also want to acknowledge LRT (Lizabeth, Renee, and Taylor Dyson) and Jeff Novacek for volunteering at the event and helping to make it run so smooth!
And thank you to the parents as well as Savannah, McKenna, and Coach Gaffney for supporting their Bobcats!
